A2ZGIF turns videos, GIFs, and images into GIFs and short videos right in your browser. It exists because most online GIF tools make you upload your files to someone else's server, sign up, or accept a watermark, and none of that is necessary.

Private by design

Your files are decoded, edited, and encoded inside your browser tab. There is no upload server to leak from.

What you can do

  • Start from anything: a video (MP4, WebM, MOV), an existing GIF, a batch of images (JPG, PNG, WebP), or a link to one. Mix several files and they combine into one timeline.
  • Trim and reorder frames, crop to a platform's aspect ratio, rotate or flip, and play it in reverse.
  • Add text captions, change speed, remove the background, and stack one-tap effects.
  • Export as a GIF, MP4, or WebM video, sized for Discord, Twitter/X, WhatsApp, Reddit, or Slack, or pick your own target size.
  • Use it in your language: A2ZGIF is available in 12 languages. Pick yours from the globe menu in the top bar.

How it works under the hood

Modern browsers can decode video, draw frames to a canvas, and encode GIFs fast enough that a server isn't needed. A2ZGIF uses those built-in capabilities, so the only thing your browser downloads from us is the app itself.

The trade-off is that everything uses your device's memory and processor. Very long or high-resolution clips can be slow on older phones. Trimming first and exporting at a smaller size helps a lot.

Who makes A2ZGIF

A2ZGIF is an independent project built and maintained by a small team based in India. We make it because we wanted a GIF tool we'd be happy to use ourselves: fast, honest about what it does with your files, and free of sign-up walls. Every feature, the guide, and the FAQ are written and tested by us.

How A2ZGIF stays free

A2ZGIF costs nothing to use, and there is no paid tier. To cover hosting and ongoing development, the site may show ads served by Google AdSense. Ads never get access to your files, because your files never leave your device. The privacy page explains how ad cookies work and how to opt out of personalized ads.
